GLOBAL 3000 OVERVIEW

Global 3000 is targeted at organisations, typically with turnovers in the range £3-50 million, which sell goods or services, purchase raw materials, components or finished goods, and assemble, manufacture or distribute products to wholesale or retail customers. Global 3000 is also very popular in a range of vertical markets including casinos, energy management, garment distribution, leisure management, medical, packaging, printing, retailing etc.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Global 3000 comprises highly functional and flexible ledgers, distribution, manufacturing and industry-specific modules running on Windows NT, Unix, Novell and DOS/Windows. Global 3000 offers an optional GUI interface on Windows, plus the unique productivity benefit of multi-tasking on every screen so each user can run up to 9 concurrent tasks.

Global 3000 client/server options enable system overheads to be spread more evenly. On Unix, Global runs in thin client mode, with applications and data residing on the server and client PCs handling screen I/O. On Novell, Global runs in 'fat client' mode using Novell's NetWare Loadable Module technology, which enables PC networks to handle mission-critical applications which combine security and performance. On Windows NT, both fat and thin clients are supported.

Global 3000 offers seamless integration with industry standard office applications - from cut and pasting of data on the Windows desktop through to file export to word processors and spreadsheets, plus the further option to use Btrieve database structures and/or ODBC connectivity for enhanced two-way integration with third party products.

Global 3000 ledgers offer unlimited profit centres and complete transaction history retention. The distribution suite offers batch and serial number tracking for BS5750 compliance, back to back ordering, sophisticated pricing mechanisms and user-definable unit handling. Manufacturing modules handle bills of material and process routes of any level of complexity, and simple production orders or full works order processing.
